What do services look like?

You’ll have a supervisor assigned to your case who will work closely with you. They typically provide supervision for 10–20% of your direct hours. For example, if you have 10 hours per week of direct therapy, the supervisor would be present at least once per week for 1–2 hours, or in some cases, every other week for 2–4 hours of supervision. This supervision usually takes place during direct therapy hours.

Your supervisor will also request caregiver or parent training meetings. While these sessions are very important, they depend on your insurance for approval. Parent training is typically at least one hour per week per child and is a great time to ask questions, review data, and learn strategies to support your child in their natural environment. Supervisors may also hold additional parent meetings with you, depending on your insurance and your child’s needs.

What is the benefit of in-home ABA?

In-home ABA allows your child to learn and practice skills in their natural environment—where they feel most comfortable. This helps skills generalize more easily to everyday life, making learning more meaningful and effective. It also allows you to be part of your child’s services. You can observe and participate in sessions, which makes it easier to carry over and generalize skills at home.
