Autism and Sensory Friendly Activities and Places in UTAH!

We all love to explore! EveryONE deserves a chance to explore in a way that is conducive to them and how they handle different stresses that would present themselves. Take a look at some of the events and places we have found that might be a great match for you and your whole family to enjoy. At the bottom of this page, there are also some tips and tricks to help along the way.

Autism Speaks is dedicated to creating an inclusive world for all individuals with autism throughout their lifespan. We do this through advocacy, services, supports, research and innovation, and advances in care for autistic individuals and their families.

Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum, 444 W 100 S
Salt Lake City, UT 84101 United States 

Designed specifically for children and families on the autism spectrum and those with other sensory disorders, visitors to sensory afternoons enter DGCM free of charge. They get to enjoy the museum with accommodations made especially for them every Monday from 3-6 pm. To get free admission you must register beforehand! Free admission is made possible by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Foundation.

National Autism Awareness Month

APRIL!

Every April Achieving Abilities celebrates World Autism Month, Starting with United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. Throughout the month, we will be sharing art from all of our wonderful Kiddos to remind everyone how amazing and talented these children can be. Light it up Blue!! Please wear blue throughout the month to help show your support!

Dance and Movement Therapy 

This virtual beginner-level dance and movement class, designed for elementary and middle schoolers with special needs (and anyone else interested in our class is welcome!), provides a fun outlet for letting out energy and meeting new people. Our main goal is for dancers to enjoy and express themselves in an active setting.
